Dear Parents/Guardians of Students in Grade 6 and 9
Students in Grade 6 and 9 throughout the province will write Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs) in May and June of this year. Provincial Achievement Tests are aligned with the provincial programs of study and are based on what students have been learning throughout the school year.

Please note, any student taking both “English Language Arts AND Social Studies” with CBe-Learn (online Learning) and Math and Science at Windsor Park School will write ALL exams WITH the CBe-Learn Team. VERY IMPORTANT! CBE Homeschool Students, Students attending classes at Windsor Park School and students taking one or no online classes, will write with CBE Home Education with the following schedule:

ELA Part A Grade 6 – Wednesday May 28 from 9-11:00 a.m. Room 6 at Windsor Park School
ELA Part B Grade 6 – Monday, June 16 from 9-10:00 a.m. Room 6 at Windsor Park School
Math Part A and B Grade 6 – Tuesday, June 17 from 9-11:00 a.m. Room 6 at Windsor Park School
Social Studies Grade 6 – Wednesday, June 18 from 9-10:00 a.m. Room 6 at Windsor Park School
Science Grade 6 - There will not be a Science Grade 6 PAT this year as per Alberta Education PAT Bulletin.

ELA Part A Grade 9 – Thursday, May 29 from 9-11:00 a.m. Room 6 at Windsor Park School
ELA Part B Grade 9 – Monday, June 16 from 9-10:15 a.m. Room 6 at Windsor Park School
Math Part A and B Grade. 9 – Tuesday, June 17 from 9:00-11:10 a.m. Room 6 at Windsor Park School
Social Studies Grade 9 – Wednesday, June 18 from 9-10:20 a.m. Room 6 at Windsor Park School
Science Grade 9 – Thursday, June 19 from 9-10:15 a.m. Room 6 at Windsor Park School
PATs are administered to students in grades 6 and 9 and have three main purposes:
- To determine if students are learning what they are expected to learn from the program of studies
- To report to Albertans how well students have achieved provincial standards at given points in their schooling
- To assist schools, authorities, and the province in monitoring and improving student learning

Please note from the PAT General Information Bulletin from Alberta Education: “If a parent withdraws a student from participation, the school indicates the student is absent on the List of Students. A copy of the parent’s letter indicating that the child will not be participating shall remain at the school.”
