What's Coming Up in May

Sports Teams

Grade 6-9 are currently getting ready for our Badminton Tournament on May 15 and Track Season has started with practices in full swing starting May 12.  If you have questions about Badminton, please reach out to 1998 Grade 9 Provincial Badminton Champion, Ms. Sara at samchardy@cbe.ab.ca and if you have questions about the Grade 6-9 Track and Field Team, please reach out to future Rec Hockey Team Champion, Ms. Cammy at cmkrochak@cbe.ab.ca. The Track Meet at Foothills Athletic Park will be May 30th from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Always a favourite day for our whole community!

Entrepreneurial Fair

Please join us on May 23 for our Annual Entrepreneurial Fair.  Those families who registered for a table to sell things at the Fair will be receiving separate emails outlining set-up and take-down and the workshops being offered.  Everyone is welcome to come and see our young entrepreneurs in action!  10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Windsor Park School.  Our prototype testing week has been an absolute joy so far.  Our students are creative and enthusiastic about their products and supporting each other!  Please feel free to share our poster (designed by one of our families!) with Family, Friends and Neighbours!  Fair Poster!

Homeschool Facilitations

Homeschool Facilitations are in Full Swing!  Please make sure to book with your Homeschool Facilitator now.  Things are going to get very busy with our upcoming move to Bel-Aire School and there won't be room in the calendar to re-book families for their year-end facilitations, so please book early.  Also, Thursday, May 15 is a Homeschool Facilitation Day at Windsor Park School - there won't be any classes on this day.

Library HELP! :).

Please, we need our community's help to pack up our Library for our move to Bel Aire School.   This Friday, May 9 from 10-12:00 p.m.!  Please also return your library books.

School Council Meeting - May 12 from 10:00-11:00 a.m.

Please see the attached agenda:  School Council May 2025

Holiday Monday! - No classes at Windsor Park School

Spending Time Outside

The weather is warm, cold, wet, dry!?  Sometimes it is challenging to pack a child's backpack for the school day in Calgary.  We have had mention of students coming home with some sunburn at the end of the day.  Please know that we will always try to get outside for recess, lunchhour and PE.  We may even go outside for a science or a math class.  Do put the sunscreen on your child in the morning and even put some in the backpack so your child can access it during the day if they need a bit of sunscreen.  Feel free to send a hat and sunglasses too as the weather continues to warm.

Lost and Found

The last day to collect your items from the lost and found is May 22.  We will then donate all items to the Good Will Store.

June Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs)

Please note, you must let Carrie know if your GRADE 6 or 9 child is or is not writing their Provincial Achievement Tests.  We have to ensure we have enough laptops and spaces for our students wanting to write this year.  A letter was sent home a month ago requesting your feedback and with details about the exams.    cerowlandson@cbe.ab.ca

Thank you,

CBE Home Education Team (Cheryl, Roger, Jin, Carrie, Sara, Jaylyn, Wendy, Brian, Stephanie, Corrina, Ksenia, Colin, Alex, Paul, Cammy, Yosef, Melanie, Steve)
